Security Guard Training

Important news about our

Manitoba Security Guard Training Program course and your Security Guard Licence

You cannot work permanently as a Security Guard until you complete the training and pass the Government Licence Test.  Once you have done that you may apply for your permanent Security Guard licence.  However, in order to do that you must also provide the Government office with proof of your clear criminal record.  A criminal record check may be obtained at the Commissionaires office at 290 Burnell St. in Winnipeg, 204 942-5993.  They are fast and polite, have free parking and are open on Saturdays.  You do not need a "vulnerable sector" check for your security guard licence.

You will also need a clear Child Abuse Registry Check.  This document is available at the Family Services office on the 1st floor, 777 Portage Ave., Winnipeg.  This check might take four to six weeks to get so you should apply for it as soon as possible. You need these documents only for your licence.

You do NOT need them to take our training.

Before you register for our security guard training, please check our schedules.  We schedule one open course each month and each course is limited to 12 students.  If you register for a course that is full, we will put your name on a waiting list.  If we get a cancellation, we will ask you if you’re still available.  We will, if you wish, also put your name on the confirmed list for the next month’s course.  We normally work two or three months ahead and courses fill quickly.  If you want to train with us, don’t wait.  Register as soon as you decide.  As payment is in cash on the first day of training, you can easily cancel at a later date.  If you do have to cancel, let us know as soon as you can so we can fill the course.  Registration and other information can be found on the following pages.

TracDyne's ex-military staff has decades of experience in adult training, self-defence and security as well as being authorized to instruct the provincial "40-hour course" required for your security guard licence.  Our Chief Instructor is a Certified Security Officer (CSO) and a Certified Security Supervisor (CSS). Established in 2005, TracDyne has trained over 1300 candidates as security guards and 92% or our students pass the Provincial licence test.  These students have an average mark  of over 84%.  The pass mark for that test is 75%.  Our training has built-in progress tests and a final mock licence test to give you confidence in your new knowledge and skills. Our goal is to provide individuals or your organisation with the training you need, when you need it and at a price you can live with.  Contact us and we will be thrilled to discuss your needs.
